We're going to Thailand

For months and months, we saw others on YouTube vlogging about their travel adventures in Thailand and dreamed of doing it ourselves.  After the dark days of winter in December and January, we decided to go for it.

After arranging time off from work, we began planning the grand trip for a month long tour.  This blog will help us capture our thoughts and events.  This is my first blog as well, lots to learn along the way.  We are Ruby and Parneet, a married couple looking to expand our travel experience.

Save $$$ - travel with Wise

Portugal trip with moms

Now that the holiday season is over, it's time to think about our next travel destination.  Our last trip in February of 2024 to Morocco included a short stopover in Lisbon, Portugal.  Although we only stayed for two days in the capital city; Portugal kept calling us to return for another visit. We thought our moms would enjoy this trip with us, there was no hesitation on their part to come along.  With their confirmation, we immediately got to work booking flights.  Portugal, here we come!

Find Penguins platform

Before leaving to Portugal, we wanted to track the travel path during our visit.  Although Google Maps is a great resource for navigation and locating points of interest, an interesting platform popped up on a search called Find Penguins .  This app will automatically track your location while you move around and create a map of your travels.  Find Penguins has been available for over 10 years, we just discovered it now. To make the most of this platform, travellers create Footprints, at any point of interest during the trip.  A Footprint allows for photos, videos and text to be added (similar to a Facebook post), additionally, your phone will log the GPS coordinates along with the elevation and local weather along the way.  During a trip, a number of Footprints can be created, which help to document the trip with photos/videos along with text to help you remember the details.  The best part is that this platform is free!
